The Kentucky State Patrol is seeking dedicated individuals to become part of the most PREMIER law enforcement agency. As a member of the KSP, you'll be patrolling the highways and the busy streets of Kentucky. Every day brings new and unique shifts, Troopers patrol the state to monitor and enforce speed limits, seat belt usage, and other traffic regulations to enhance road safety.

Kentucky State Police Divisions

Welcome to the Kentucky State Police Division Center! Below will be information and applications regarding the divisions we offer in the Kentucky State Police!

Commercial Vehicle Enforcement(CVE)

To establish operational guidelines for members of the KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division. CVE Troopers are tasked with ensuring the safe and lawful operation of both commercial and passenger vehicles across Kentucky highways and roadways.

Special Response Team(SRT)

To provide specialized tactical response to high-risk incidents including barricaded suspects, hostage rescues, active shooters, warrant service, and crisis negotiations.

Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT)

To provide the Commonwealth with proper investigations to ensure public safety for major crimes like homicides, drug trafficking, kidnapping, etc.

Division of Academy Training(DAT)

To provide proper training for Kentucky State Police cadets to ensure new troopers are fit to safely and properly enforce the laws of the Commonwealth.

Division Requirements

Rank: Trooper+
Conduct: Professional conduct at all times
Training: Divisional training is required to be completed when applicable.

Notes

All troopers are required to be in at least one of these divisions, there will be no exceptions!
Internal Affairs Bureau(IAB) is appointed only. As of now, no application will be released for IAB. The IAB director is constantly observing troopers and will reach out to you regarding possible placement in IAB
